Registration at STRI
Please follow this link to register on-line at STRI. The office of visitors will then help you to organize your stay at STRI.
Permits
Please apply on-line at STRI to request relevant permits to the Autoridad Nacional del Ambiente (ANAM)
Regulations
- No admittance is granted to persons under the age of 12
- The cranes can be used anytime: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, it is requested that use on Sundays and holidays be kept at a minimum
- All regular crane users are asked to take a safety course for evacuation of the crane gondola in case of emergency. Regular users are those that use the crane without trained Smithsonian personnel in the gondola.
- Collecting plant material is limited. Collection of flora and fauna must have been approved by ANAM and relevant permits issued.
- Research requiring destructive sampling is not allowed.
