Cruise Reports-UNOLS
Prior to leaving the vessel at the end of a cruise, the Chief Scientist will complete a UNOLS "Research Vessel Cruise Assessment by Chief Scientist" report form on the ship’s computer. The Master will forward that form to the Vessel Superintendent for transmittal to UNOLS, with a copy thereof being sent to the Chief Scientist by email. Alternatively, if the Chief Scientist desires the Master will supply a printout of this form inside an envelope, which may be sealed for confidentiality after being completed. At the same time, the Master will prepare a UNOLS "Captain's Post-Cruise Report" and. Transmit that to the Vessel Superintendent for distribution to UNOLS.
Within a week after the completion of a cruise, the Vessel Superintendent will complete the final UNOLS "Cruise Report/Ship Utilization Data" form and forward a copy to the Chief Scientist for their records. The Chief Scientist should check this for errors or omissions and contact the Vessel Superintendent immediately for correction and re-submission.
